3D Printed Jewel Vase - Designed by Clockspring3D
Let the light glint off those sweeping lines and shiny surfaces and reflect in dazzling glory off the diamonds that protrude from inset pockets along the circumference!
I am loving vase mode at the moment! Specifically, designing ways to have insets and apparent overhangs, which you normally can't have in such a print since we're eternally bound to the rule that the profile must be drawn as one continuous perimeter line! So, no pockets allowed, even if the angles would otherwise be okay.
Those diamond-shaped pockets expand flare larger as they go inwards, which only works because of those lines that sweep through them, giving the extruder an escape path by which to form the inner pocket and still return to the outside profile as well.
Meanwhile, those upper swirly lines add rigidity and sturdiness (okay, they're really there just to look fancy...)
